IT education in Asia is limited due to the shortage of IT lecturers and lack of equipments for hands-on exercise. Distance learning is insufficient to solve the problem because 1) It commonly supports lecture but not computer-based hands-on exercise 2) Quality of Internet in Asia is inadequate. This paper proposes to integrate region-wide distance learning technologies with the virtualization technology.
